Bach Khoa Innovation 2020: Brilliant success of the student innovation contest

The Bach Khoa Innovation 2020 competition was a great success with the participation of 20 outstanding teams in the final on Sunday morning, June 28th, 2020. With 52 practical and creative projects, the competition attracted the attention of many students from the University of Technology (Bach Khoa) and other universities, contributing to various fields including computer science, electronics, mechanical and mechatronic engineering, chemistry, construction, environment, petroleum, materials, applied sciences, and industrial management.

The competition's final round was attended by notable representatives, including Ms. Phan Quy Truc - Representative of the Technology Management Department - Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, Mr. Le Minh Phuong - Vice President of the University, sponsors' representatives, and expert judges, including 2 directors, CEOs, and Managers from major corporations.

The members of the organizing committee, mentors for the teams, and heads of departments worked together to create a successful, dramatic, and rewarding competition for students. The six-month journey was full of excitement, to find the best teams and determine the overall winners. The final results have been announced, and 20 teams were honored with 5 leading teams.

The team "Air Filter System" with the project "Air mask (mask for buses)" excellently won the first prize and the championship cup of Bach Khoa Innovation 2020. What is special is that each member of the championship team was awarded a scholarship for the CAD/CAM/CNC course at TechK.

The team "WOW" with the project "Yehchai" and the team "UST" with the project "Application of phenolic compounds from bio-oil in preserving cellulose-based products" won the second prize in the competition.

The team "EAD" with the project "Emergency Alert Device (EAD)" and the team "Bio Gold" with the project "Nanocellulose From Paper Waste" won the third prize.

In addition, the competition also included several sub-awards, including TOP 3 Best Videos and TOP 3 Best Posters awarded to outstanding Video and Poster teams.

Bach Khoa Innovation has provided opportunities for students to realize innovative entrepreneurial ideas and models, as well as scientific research, thereby solving society's practical needs through technical, technological, and managerial solutions.

This year's Bach Khoa Innovation competition is sponsored by many businesses, with a total value of up to 400 million Vietnamese dong. Before entering the final round, the participating teams were supported and equipped with knowledge through the TOP 20 advisory seminar. This seminar helped the teams answer questions about the current product model of the TOP 20 projects. The advice also provides practical experience for teams to seize opportunities and overcome difficulties when starting a business. This seminar was led by speakers who are experts in the field.

So Bach Khoa Innovation 2020 has officially concluded successfully and completely, and the mystery of the champion has been revealed. It promises to be a useful and equally dramatic playground for students in future seasons.
